New Trustee Appointed to Vincinnes University Board

John Hidde has been appointed to the Vincennes University Board of Trustees. Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels appointed Hidde to the three-year term. He replaces R. J. Reynolds.

"It is an honor to be selected as a board member of this fine University, and I will do my best to contribute to its future success," Hidde said. He was sworn in at the VU Board meeting in Indianapolis today.

A past president/CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital from which he retired in Dec. 2000, Hidde is currently secretary of the Vincennes Police Civil Service Merit Commission and a member of the Executive Committee and chair of the Site Development Committee of the Knox County Development Corporation.

Hidde holds a masters degree in Health Care Administration from the Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, and a bachelors degree in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

A volunteer for the Vincennes Food Pantry, Hidde serves on its Executive Committee and as chair of its Building Committee. He is a member of the Vincennes Elks Club and St. Pauls Lutheran Church where he chairs its Finance Committee.

A veteran of the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps, having served as a Captain, Hidde and his wife Judy have three married sons and eight grandchildren.
