Vincennes University Enrollment Up Again
Spring semester enrollment at Vincennes University is up 5.65 percent compared to the first week of classes last spring, according to a report delivered Wednesday to the VU Board of Trustees in Indianapolis.
Kristi Deetz, senior director of External Relations, said VUs full-time-equivalency (FTE) enrollment is up 375 system-wide. Vincennes Campus FTE is up 115 with 1,887 students housed in residence halls - 14 more than last year. Headcount enrollment on the Vincennes Campus is 5,396 students.
Deetz said there is an increase in full-time students compared to part-time students. This is a trend also reported last fall. Looking ahead to the next academic year, Deetz said that accumulated applications are running slightly ahead of this time last year for the Vincennes Campus with 3.3 percent more students having completed the application process.
In other business, the VU Board of Trustees:
- Approved curriculum changes that were recommended by the Curriculum and Academic Affairs Committee and the Faculty Senate. The changes include deactivating the Professional Nanny Certificate Program due to lack of enrollment.
- Welcomed new member John Hidde, Vincennes, who was recently appointed to a three-year term on the Board by Governor Mitch Daniels.
- Approved a resolution of appreciation for R.J. Reynolds, Coatesville, for his three years of service on the VU Board.
