KCDC is the first contact source for economic development in Knox County Indiana. Our operating budget is largely privately funded. KCDC also receives funding through its contracts with the city of Vincennes and Knox County to provide economic development services. Its stated mission is: "To maintain and improve the quality of life, including environmental concerns, for the citizens of Knox County by developing the overall economy of the county."
This mission is taken very seriously. In a 250 acre industrial park owned by KCDC, five acres have been purchased by CCX. FIA Corporation (Futaba Indiana of America) has built a new $10 million manufacturing facility to produce internal door frames for Toyota's Princeton, Indiana plant on 30 acres, current expansion will nearly triple plant size. Other targeted tenants are automotive, plastics and food processing industries.
